News: Highcroft adds Werner

2010 is a big year for Highcroft Racing. They enter the year as reigning ALMS LMP1 Champions and have been invited to participate in the 78th running of the famed 24 Hours of Le Mans.
This will be the Danbury, Connecticut based team's first attempt at the grueling twenty-four hour test of man and machine. Even though they are rookies at the event,
they will certainly be prepared with a stellar driver lineup and a strong car. With ALMS regular Simon Pagenaud set to drive for Peugeot in
June, there was an empty seat for the team. Today Highcroft
announced the addition of longtime Audi veteran and three-time overall winner of the French classic, Marco Werner. Werner joins David Brabham and Marino Franchitti in the Highcroft HPD ARX-01c. Brabham won his first overall Le Mans victory last year with Peugeot after winning the GT1 category the previous two years with Aston Martin Racing. Marino has proven to be more than capable with running with anybody in a prototype and Werner's multiple Le Mans victories will certainly aid everybody involved. Nick Wirth is currently working on a low-drag, Le Mans aero package for the team and they plan to test at Road America in preparation for the race.
