Yesterday we looked back on one of Porsche's finest and most succesful racing cars, the Porsche RS Spyder. Today, instead of reminiscing, we instead look at Porsche's latest racing car, the 911 GT3R Hybrid. This new car is one of the most eargerly anticipated and exciting racing cars ever to come out of Stuttgart. A bold statement indeed considering this is the same company that gave us the all mighty 917 and 962. Equipped with a kinetic energy recovery system, the GT3R Hybrid is able to recover energy otherwise lost in braking in the form of heat and use this energy to give the car an extra "boost" down the straights. An interesting concept that will hopefully be applied to Porsche's road cars, and the video proves that Hybrid technology can be efficient, but also very fast.
