Peugeot has released the first images of its new prototype, the 90X, which will serve as a replacement for the extremely quick, but often fragile 908. The car has been tested at Monza and several small differences (and one rather large one) can be seen.

Peugeout's new Audi Slayer: The 90X

First and most obvious is the large shark fin mandated for this year extending from the roof of the car all the way back to the wing. Supposedly the fin greatly reduce the chance of the cars blowing over. Also a air intake scoop has been added to the roof. With the combination of the duct and fin, one has to wonder what the chances are of Peugeout trying to implement an F-duct system used by multiple Formula One teams.
The wing is where another subtle difference can be noted, instead of the traditional pillar wing supports, Peugeot has turned to the "swan neck" design used by Audi and Acura to help prevent the wing supports from causing turbulent air to flow on the underside of the wing.
On the side of the car there are more small changes. The rear fenders are less bulbous and more slabbed shaped to punch a smaller hole through the air on the Mulsanne. The side pontoons are less bosy and have more of an F1-esque angular look to them, similar once again to the side of the Audi R15.
